The Introductions:
I have been knitting since I was roughly 7 years old. My mother taught me, like her mother, and her grandmother, etc...
I love to be holding something while I sit. Rather I would fidget way too much, and so, my mother taught me to sit and knit. I first made simple things such as: scarves, hats, and lacey items. At the age of 13 I got my first loom, and I made many different types of rugs for my dolls and doll house. I miss those days a lot.
Then I just stopped! I had better things to do; like trying out for track and field, along with cross country and yes, field hockey. I was the sports fanatic.
I eased back into the art of knitting in my mid 20’s and knitted my very first blanket that I think took me a week. I still own that blanket today. After I had my second born in 2005, I took up knitting again; however, in a whole new way. I learnt for the first time how to knit in the round (circular knitting) crochet, and even do harder things such as cabling, and I knit my first pair of socks. I’m now a sock junkie. No task is too small (or is that too big?) I love to custom design my own longies and wool soakers because none of the patterns I saw on line suited me (or my baby) right. Pattern making is not a simple task that is for sure.
